Q: What’s your favorite genre of music?

A: Personally, I like most genres of music (outside of country music), but if I had to choose one, it would have to be 90’s Rap and R&B. I like to listen to it to destress after a long day, or if I need to get stuff done. I don’t know many producers and musicians by name, but I do like some Eminem if I only had to choose one.

Q: Have you ever collaborated with someone to create music?

A: Not necessarily, but I have gotten tips from friends and family who listen to early versions of my music. I would like to truly collaborate with someone one of these days, but at the moment, I haven’t gotten any requests, and there’s no one I’d like to collaborate with. I’ll just be working on my own until someone asks me or when the stars align and I find an opportunity and take it.

Q:  Where do you post your music?

A: I mainly post my music on my Youtube channel, but I still have archives of some of my music on a Soundcloud account. Don’t expect me to post to the Soundcloud account. If I make something new and I like it, it’ll be in my Youtube channel.

Q: Why do you want to become a teacher? Don’t they get paid unproportionately?

A: I have always looked up to my teachers as inspirations, every teacher has allowed me to understand what a great teacher is and I can use those experiences to be a better teacher for my future students. I have witnessed many teachers’ abilities to reach their students on a personal level, which is something that I want to give my students.  Teachers are in high demand and being a teacher is usually an underappreciated career for the amount of work and effort they perform. I understand the difficulty and self-sacrifice it takes to become a teacher, but I am willing to take on the extra work if it means I am able to help future generations.

I do not just want to be a run-of-the-mill teacher. I want to strive to be the best I can be, not only as a person, but as a mentor of future generations.

Q: What are you planning to do after graduation?

A: After graduating, I plan on going to college in order to get a degree in mathematics and my teaching credentials so I can become a math teacher. At a young age, I have already gravitated towards numbers and math. When other children would draw pictures with sidewalk chalk, I would do math equations with the chalk on the sidewalk instead.

I enjoy the challenge. I like how you can apply mathematics in the real world, in engineering and architecture, and how math is a crucial part of society. Many mathematical theories that we find as basic information today were revolutionary thousands of years ago. It is fascinating how much we have learned so much as a society, and I want to share that information with future generations.
